well i wouldnt backcomb at all id twist and ripand 1/2 inch or so is a decent size 1/4-1/2 mix em up (section size measurements are the area of hair from the roots not the thickness of bundled or t&red hair since they thickenu shouldnt and cant keep thenm "neat' early on without doing a ton of harmand making them not last long at all so to be more presentable u can tame em with aloe or just tie em back or upan up do hides the messiness wella tam or hats great to hide the early stages and help them dread faster
