You wouldn't use the dish soap in the shower. If I miss anything, or you feel confused, check the dreaducation page for wax removal techniques;

Get a big bowl or pot. Fill it with the hottest water you can stand to have your hands in long term. squirt a generous amount of dish soap in. Then, 1 by 1, dunk your locks into the water. Spend about a minute ach rubbing and massaging the soap into your lock. You may want to replace the water once or twice as it will get pretty murky and gross. When all of them are done, just wash like normal.

Now, you'll want to do this 2-3 times a week for 1 month for each time you applied wax.

I know it's tedious, but it better to be safe and know you got all the wax out.

Welcome. Wax, at best, prevents all locking. At worst, and very probably, it will cause rotting and mold. It glues your hair together to make it look like locks, but they really aren't locks. You can get it all out with a detergent like Dawn dish soap or the wax-b-gone from dreadlockshampoo.com. But normal soap and water won;t get it out It's a hydrocarbon. It will melt deep into your locks and may feel like it's out, but it's not. If you leave it in, they will never mature past the day you put it in first.

And never put lemon or lime in your hair. It;s citric acid. It seeps into your hair shaft and degrades your hair making it brittle and very prone to breaking.

I can also see that you are using rubber bands in your hair. Those are too tight and create weak spots on your locks that can snap off. The area under the band does not knot up. They also prevent tangling and knotting that is needed for them to mature. And bands tend to break and get sucked into your hair where they dry rot and cause mold
