Thank you all for the advice! Ojas, I liked how you said "they will be the most original and beautiful dreads you could ever have." There isn't really a specific or certain 'way' to get dreads, huh? Everyone goes through their own unique journey
Don't listen to anybody sister, people always tend to know more than you.... Let's accept that they are much more knowledgeable than us and we are simple poor beings...
People who never had dreads have told me that your hair will never dread until i put bananas and eggs i them and let them rot.....!!! Can you imagine...? :P I just respond saying.... "I dont wanna have dreadlocks, so just chill" Hahaha!!
So basically, dont put anything in them.. just stop brushing, wash with the right things and you will have dreads forming in the coming months/years. They will be the most original and beautiful dreads you could ever have. Good luck for your journey.
youd only be doing something wrong if you listened to them
you know they are maturing perfectly and healthily on their own

I've just been told so many times "you need to wax them you need to crochet them." I haven't yet but I worry that I'm doing something wrong that's going to affect their eventual maturity
