Welcome to the community Gene and to your wonderful journey to dreading. Nice to see you are keeping them all natural, that will ensure you can grow them for life if you so choose,,,and why wouldn't you....
Water type plays a huge roll with what we should use as a dread shampoo. With hard water, many of the ones sold do not work properly, they slowly leave behind a residue build up. With soft water, all healthy ones are good to use and work fantastic, including Dr.Bronners. So here is the map to see what type you have. The best shampoo I found that works with my hard well water is from www.dreadlockshampoo.com The creator of them is also a member on this site, Vickie's shampoos and bars are all natural and work in all water types.
Enjoy the wild ride you will be on for the next year, it sure is fascinating to see all the changes and how dreads are born...peace

welcome check the water type in your area (barellady will post the hard water map) if u got hard water dont use bronners
if u dont be sure u dilute it alot 12 btimes more warer at a minumum
tes natural shrinks more gradualy it can even shrink and grow at same rate so just e a zero growth period
longer hair shrinks more drasticly waist length hair can shrink to 4 inches while 6 inch might shrink to 4
tho a lil longer will dread faster
6 inch min
yea wax is gross
ok heres what u do
oily hairs typicaly over washed and too acidic
mix 1/2 cup baking soda in 5 cups water
wet hair pour it on wait 10 min then rinse
wash like that every 2 then 3 then 4 days
when u get to 4 without being oily after rinsing the bs out mix a spoonfull of acv in 5 cups pour on then rinse imedietely
that will make u less oily
what did u use in the past
stop using methods
the best way to dread is to just let it dread
what are all the methods youve used?
