Just joined the site. I used no methods but simply let my hair tangle up all on its own over the last 6 years. I performed no maintenance other than attach a few beads and just making sure they didnt all form together.
It is possible to have awesome dreads this way but dont expect them to come in the first year or even few years. You will go through a long ratty period but this is the absolute beauty of it. To watch your hair come together in unexpected ways like it has a life of its own. And it does. Its your life! Your conciousness, your connection with nature and spirit. Ill post some pictures soon.
