Styling Dredz Wax removal help

dread wax and dread kits recovery

Hi,

My roots are hard from using stylin dreds gel wax. My dreads look gud but I now know that wax is bad and slows down dreading.

Here is a link to the wax:

http://www.dreadshop.com/stylin-dredz-mouldin-wax-gel.html

Has anyone used this before and how do i get it out. I dont have money for wax-be gone or similar. I was thinking I just use baking soda / ACV rinse till its all out. I had only used the wax 2 times.

Any help is appreciated.

Bless!!

Saloon dreads, basically after washing the hair they comb it out and use thecomb to section hair and then twist the sections with the comb. They also add a gel for styling Dreadz and some sort of hairspray. Its basically dread rape lol. But it works in African hair. Of course u HV 2 goback for retwist to deal with new growth.

I can relate to Spencer. I had a similar problem when I was introduced to my fiancees relatives. I had to get saloon dreads after growing ma natural dreads for about 4 months. Even after ma dreads looked neat ma in laws still complained about ma dreads and even threatened that they will not allow me to marry their daughter if I didn't cut that hair off. In Africa, our elder people associate dreadlocks with being a thug, homeless or worse.

heya!

from what i have found is the BS wash dried my scalp alot, the ACV is used to balance out the PH in youre hair (hair is slighty acidic and BS is alkaline, AVC acid) my scalp was getting itchy and it stared to flack. useing the ACV is working a treat so far. Opoion differs some people say use it with every wash some people say every so often is fine. its about finding waht works for you :)

hope this helps,

safe journey till next time

BS w/o ACV any good?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Thanks for the dreaducation Baba. BTW is ACV the same as Apple Vinegar. I live in europe at the moment and haven't found ACV, only AV.

ACV acts like a conditioner without leaving residue in your hair.

So, yes, it's needed after every wash. You don't need much for baby locks. In a gallon of water, you only need a cap full of it. You can add oils to this rinse too.

The only time you;d not use the ACV is if your hair gets oily fast. Then you'd not use it for a week or two, until your scalp stops getting oily. But then you're reintroduce it slowly

BS w/o ACV any good?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Hi Dreadheadz. I have just stared the journey of growing locks. I hv started about a week ago washin my hair with BS w. Tea Tree and Romsemary oil every other day. Days between i usually rinse with water. My hair is very shorts 2+ inch and african texture, I have not yet used ACV rinse since my scalp gets dry very fast and i get the itchies. Do I need the ACV rinse or can i just continue with BS n oils?

Bless!!!
