Does anyone know if it is beneficial to use in the BS wash?
And any recommendations on how many drops to use would be good too, I generally use about 10 drops tea tree, 10-20 drops lavendar oil with the BS and ACV wash.
You put the oils into the water mix, I wash mine in a sink, or a basin (which you can pour over your head)

thanks again this has been very helpful so far
Tara C said:You don't have to, but you will need to at least switch to residue-free shampoo (if you haven't already). The baking soda is just ideal for when you're just starting out, cos you just pour it over you, you don't have to rub your scalp or anything and mess up any newly-forming knots.
Also I am washing it without the apple cider vinegar rinse, because I cant find apple cider vinegar anywhere near me, will that effect how clean the dreads are?
I was wondering what would happen to your hair if you didnt rinse the baking soda wash out?
I am about to rinse it out - just wondering what would happen if i didnt...
Heyy guys.
I am Gavin, from Glasgow in Scotland, and I want to finally say hello!
I have been on this site for ages but never started being active until....well now.
I have started dreading, and even the months I have been on this site and not dreading have been so helpful - I know so much more about dreads because of this site than self proclaimed "locticians", and thankfully to SE I have avoided seriously ruining my hair!
Anyway nice to meet you all!
Cheers.
