Sea Salt soak/rinse

Dread Maintenance

ok cool. Thanks! does it help as much as i think it will. I think it was your video on youtube that said that a sea salt rinse will help the locking process.

Sea Salt soak/rinse

Dread Maintenance

I am coming up on my 1 year mark for growing natural locks. (neglect method) I use Dr. Bronners soap to wash my hair about two times a week. I am acollegiate athlete so with practice and workouts comes sweat and grime. I have been doing some research and found that if i use a mixture of sea salt water it can improve the process. My question to you is how much sea salt do i add to one gallon of water? i would like to start doing this asap and about once a week. I am planning on uploading a video of my hair when they turn 1 year old and i would like them to look nice for the video (i have only one week left).

General Talk

I made the mistake of letting my hair grow for a year before i decided to stop combing it... now i am debating wheather or not to cut my hair to 3 to 4 inches then let it go from there... any suggestions?

Introduce Yourself

I am new at this just like you. the day i turned 20, i decided to never comb or cut my hair for as long as i live! I am nearly 3 months in and i have some good formations. I found out quick that after a wash with dr. bronners to towel dry them, but dont rub the towel in, just kind press it all around your head and let them drip dry after that. After every wash, they seem to tighten up! Keep em clean, seperate when needed, and be happy while being nappy!

2 months in... Rest of my existance to go!

Introduce Yourself

My name is Ethan Hemphill; I have visited this site many times before, browsing at pictures and getting top-of-the-line information. Today I decided to join this growing site as a member! It is very re-assuring to see all of the people who have gone/going through my same experiances with dreadlocks. As the title advertises, I have stopped combing my hair and started using 100% biodegradable shampoo for the last 2 months. I am supper excited at the progress thus far, also I am anxiously awaiting the day when I have beautiful dreadlocks swinging at my feet! For all of you experianced dread-heads out there, do you have any tips, comments or advise that you would like to pass down to me, the noooob?!?
