The "Constantly Changing" Law of Locks

Dread Maintenance

Need some advice from people who have had their dreads for a few years....

This set is coming around 2 years old soon, and the past 3 or 4 months a lot of change has been happening and I want to make sure that its ok...First, I wash 2 (sometimes) 3 times a week with BS/ACV, and dont do palm rolling, or anything of the like, just letting em do what they want...Now,I understand, especially with the natural method that the dreadies are going to go through whatever changes they need to and this will always be happening, but when should you start to step in? When does the principle to not fuck with your hair get pushed aside for a moment? lol

In the past 4 months, 1 lock (thin) ripped off and the tips/shafts of a few locks are coming more and more loose to the point where it looks like they too are going to rip off...And I have SO MUCH loose hair! I know all of this is part of the process but just wanted to get some reassurnace that its all good...

Step in and try to save em? Or let what happens, happen?

Thin Locks

Dread Maintenance

The last time I seperated any of my locks was atleast 6 months ago. I stopped doing it because I found it unneccesary. None of my locks have congo'd since.

So I havnt done anything (until recently) and they havent congo'd...Thats why I thought maybe I should step in before these rip...The main problem is, I think, is that they are not fully dreaded to the root. There is about 3 inches of non dreaded hair, which is the weak spot where they are slowly ripping off...

I also have 3 little guys located near one another...Im trying to train them to congo so its something that will survive...I dont have a bead that will fit...Or any hemp to tie a hair wrap, so I just have the three braided together until I get something that will work...

Thin Locks

Dread Maintenance

Yo yo party people...

Over the past few weeks, Ive had 2 dreads rip...Not at the roots, but mid way...What should I do about these little guys? Id like to save them if I can because on this side of my head, I have some thick dreads and without these little guys trying to balance things out, I look like im balding...

My motto thus far has been let whatever happens happen, but I now have a bunch of loose hair (more so than usual) and feel like these little guys wont make it unless I step in...

Advice?

Yeah ive been upping the oils a little bit because it helps with my scalp to not itch so bad.

Yeah I havnt seen a single bug. Even the both times I did the rubbing alcohol treatments.

I'll try the tea tree and see if that helps. :)

Ok got someone to take a picture. The good news is that they seem to be going away...My friend gave me the idea that it could be stress...Or a heatrash...Who knows, but atleast it is starting to go away.

Yeah havnt seen any fall out both times doing the rubbing alcohol, so im stopping that.

I guess the most logical explaination is bed bugs, but I havnt seen a single bug or traces of them...I dunno whats going on but it sucks. =/

Well, now im not sure if its lice or not...

A friend came over and throughly checked my scalp/hair for eggs or bugs and she saw nothing. I personally have never seen any lice/eggs, I was solely going off my own intuition because of how fucking itchy my scalp is and the bites on my neck/behind my ears.

So I dont know what to do...Im going to keep doing the rubbing alcohol/neem treatments for the next week just to be sure, but any other opinions as to what it could be?

My friend said I have a really dry scalp and thats why im probably itching, but that doesnt explain the bites on my neck...
