Washing tips

Introduce Yourself

So I have my BS, Sea salt, and ACV all ready to start my dreading. Here are my questions?

Should I wash at night before I go to bed and put my tam on or wash in the morning and put my tam on for the day?

When I use my BS and SS, do I rinse my hair with water then use the ACV, or only rinse with the ACV solution?

Last one, does wearing the tam while sleeping help with creating dreads?

Thanks to all for your help.

Chris

LOL, thanks again SE for helping me. I feel with your help and what I have found on this site, I am heading in the right direction. I think I will cancel my salon appointment now. NO WAX for me!

Thanks SE, I did find a fromula for the BS and ACV.

Ok, I will just shake my head to get most of the mositure out, then let it air dry. I will also, start wearing a wool cap at night when I sleep.

I am going to start on 3/1on thenatural way. Oh yea, I ride a motorcycle will the wind help me or should I wear a hat in the beginning?

Thanks for the reply, but I am not following you.

Do I just use baking soda and water to wash my hair, sorry this is all new so I want to completely understand.

One other question, when you are done washing your hair, do you dry your hair with a towel or just put the towel on your head and try to absored as much as you can.

Hello all!

Introduce Yourself

Just came across this site and there is a ton of information. In a nut shell it seems the best method is to just go natural and that is to wash your hair, but do not comb it.

Here is what I haven't found, my hair is just over two inches long, can I start the natural method now or does it have to be longer?

Also, I don't live near the ocean so should I mix my own salt water for my hair? Do I wash it first and use the salt water to rinse it?

Thanks for your input.

natural dreadlocks or neglect method dreading

Dreading Methods

Perfect! That is what I was looking for. Since I don't have dreads now, should I just let it air dry before I put my tam on or is it ok to at least shake my head to release some of the water, then let it air dry before I put my tam back on?

Dreading Methods

Ok, when I pour on my BS and SS on my hair how to I work it in, with my finger tips or the palm of my hand? Or did I just pour it on, let it sit for a few then rinse it? I am sure you answer this all the time, but I really appreciate your input.

Dreading Methods

SE,

When you say wash your hair, can it be done daily or should it be every few days. For me I have just started my natural method (3 days in) I have been washing each morning with BS and SS, and after a quick rinse I use ACV. I do not dry my hair I just shake my head. When I wash with BS and SS I massage my scalp. Are these the correct methods? If not how should I be doing this?

Thanks
