yea u never want to let a crochet hook touch your dreads rver! the only acceptsble exception is to arract extentions or a freinds dreads to yours..

let the thin rooted ones congo with a neighbour or take some loose hairs wrap around the roots and tuck the tip under the roots to keep it there that will help it learn to dread with that dread

anything else u do to the roots will only weakrn them

have iu crocheted them before ? id so thats why your having issues

Help! Save My Dreads

waw you guy's sure are efficient, thanks for the advice its a big help. i never realised that it was better to wash often (silly now i think about it). Ive never been the type to worry about loose hairs, its just since they have started ganging up on the locks ive gotten worried. haha. the thinning of the roots is really only a few dreads but some are long and thick so a bead may not fit on those ones. maby i could crochet aclump of hairthroght the root just to secure?? i will try to take some pictures.

do you have any advice for drying them if i am to wash more often?? i live in england soi dont get tosee much sun :)

p.s. soaringeagle, your hair is some of the nicest locks ive ever seen!! realy waw! i'll get there one day ;)

Help! Save My Dreads

Ive had my locks for nearly 4 years now and have opted for the natural look. however my hair does not seam to lock naturally at all. i have some realy nice locksbut they are in amongst alot of loose hair which does not seam to lock on its own even though i havent done anything to it in years,(this progressively getting worse too). Imworried that some roots are now so thin that the dread may fall off.

I only wash my hair onceevery three weeks/a month. as a result it is often greasy....is this why they dont lock?

alsoi use aussie shampoo as it says it leaves no residue. this leaves my hair quite smooth after washing tho, is that another reason why they wont lock?

if i use baking soda insted, will it help? if so is there a special type or will any do?

zak.
