ok my peoples... its official. i have my locks. thanks to my wonderul wife and the power of prayer. now i pray they stay in. i would also like to thank everyone who participated in this discussion. youse guys are great. so... the total count is 44, each different than the next with a wide variation of size, shape, and length. i love it. i'll try to get a pic up soon. i'm going to post somestuff in the general posts page, or whatever its called. thanks again everyone.

ok. an update... last night i went to bed with 11 locks in and now i have 16 in with her help. we had a talk/arguement about it and it comes down to this, i'm doing it. i love the fact that she's the one helping me in this journey. i hope God blesses this journeyand the two of us to grow together. Im looking at it in that reguard and thinking of the hours we get to spend chillin and bs-ing not going anywhere or doing anything. not out spending money, but spending time in together...

HOLA, it is me, the SANCHO! It is ok, I am here now.

I'm new to the dread scene and have a few questions. I'm looking to hear stories about this subject and see how others have approached this issue.

so... the whole story... kinda...

I've been growing my hair out for a while with the intent on eventually dreading it. Now the time has come to dread my head. This is something i've talked about forever. I'm married and my wife isnt 100percent on board with this whole journey. I've begun the process with a few dreads thrown in with her help but she insists that she does not want them to last, She expects me to get my dreads, "have my fun" and cut them off, then I could say I did it. That is not my intent and she knows it. I'm in a pickle. I want to make my wife happy, but I want my dreads. Is it really even about hair? She asked me the question, "if you had to pick, would you choose your dreads over me?"... my answer is neva-eva! ... but...maybe the question is, "would you choose you over me?" or something... I know who I am and what I want. I know what I like and the same goes for my wife... anyone in a similar situation? anyone, feel free to chime in if you've got 2 cents to share.

okay... my dandruff is just getting a lot worse.

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

i was reading today about natural dandruff cures and i found out that coconut oil is good for the scalp and helps eliminate dandruff. i had dandruff but it magically went away and about the same time, i started using an all natural bar soap from publix, "kirks origional coco castile" its is made with coconut oil. hmmm, amazing. it works. i havent had flakes since i've started using it. i hope this was helpful. peace
