General Questions

so ive been deading for awhile now, itll be a year on december 9th. so far everythings been goin well i suppose, cept for one problem. i never planned on havin any congos. once i went too long with out seperating any of em and it got to the point where 2 of em were so tangles into each other, i figured itd be easier to just let em go. now theyve pretty much congod completely, up until about an inch from the tip

the reason i write this is i no longer want these to be congod. ive pulled 2 dreads apart before, but these ones have been doin their own thing for so long thats its not like the others. ive been tryin to do it for the past few hours with little progress and i feeel like im breaking hairs. any one ever had this problem before?

Week 1, few questions

General Questions

ok so the last time i shampood and brushed was last monday. since then ive cleaned it once with a BS wash. so far its decently sectioning and ive got one tangle on the lower back of my head that gets more tangly everyday. right now i dont have a tam, but plan on gettin one soon which ill prolly wear almost all day most days. ive got a few questions i was hopein you guys could help me answer.first, before i started id take a shower, shampoo, and brush everyday. since then i still shower everyday just now all i do is get my hair wet. should i be doin that everyday, or would keeping it dry help it move along faster? also, ive read that sea salt accelerates things. how much water and salt should i be mixing together, and whats the best way to apply it? would dipping my hair in a tub of salt water be good, or just sprayin it with a sprayer? how ofter should i use it? and lastly, the tangle ive got in the back is really loopy. should i be doin something to straighten out the tangle or just let it do its thing?nick

I wanna start my dreads..

Introduce Yourself

Yoyo just came across this site and its pretty tight. Ive been growin my hair out for about umm 2 and a half years maybe now, its gettin pretty long. Ive been thinkin about dreadin it for awhile now but never had the balls to go through with it, but now i think im ready.. only problem is, i only have a slight idea of what im doin. ive thought about it and id like to do this in a natural way, but before i start i want to know everything there is to know about it. i need to know the who, what, where, when, why, and how. if someone could point me in the direction of some kind of "guide" it would be much appriciated. Thanks in advancelove the sitenick
