sauve(shampoo)

General Questions

ok. how about T-Gel (shampoo)? i have heard some good things about it. maybe i should try an organic grocery store for special shampoo?

There are many different types of Suave shampoo. Some are very conditioning , while others are not. The big thing with dreads is to keep conditioner off of them because it slickens the hair keeping knots from forming and undoing knotts that are already there. That is what conditioners are made for. The other issue is residues. Residue left in dreads builds up over time. The residues can cause problems. One problem is...it takes longer for your hair to dry. It takes a long time for dreads to dry anyway so why add drying time. Prolonged dampness in dreads encourages mold/mildew. Which is not really a big problem in baby dreads, but can be a major problem in mature dreads.

If you have doubts about a shampoo, don't use it.
