Soaringeagle,so if crochet/palmroll/backcomb isnt a good method, what is?also, how is twist and rip done?Island, when you say by going natural means not combing/messing with my hair right?and I'd want to wait till my hair is longer to dread, or do you think it's long enough?

Hola!

Introduce Yourself

I don't have dreads now but each day that goes by i want them badly. My hair is currently a little over 6 inches long and it's wavy. My plan is to get dreads once I graduate since this following year im a senior, I'm going to wait after graduation because I dnt want to go thru the process during the school year. After doing some research about starting, I'm going to do the backcombing/palmrolling/crochet thing, but NO wax at all. I know there's more to that than I know but that's where you guys come in. One BIGquestion that I have is, does it matter if I have dry/damaged hair when starting the lock process? I'm going to get the dry/dam. hair trimmed today but I dnt want to cause it means my hair will be shorter, sooo does it matter, should I just ignore it and let my continue to grow, or not? Well this is it for now, I'm new here so hello everyone!
