If You've Got "2 Cents" I Want It:
Dread Maintenance
Okay, first of all, hello. I'm not new to this site, but I am a new user. I'm very grateful that you are giving my discussion post your attention and, hopefully, your input.
So I have had my dreads for about 2 months. I opted to go with the backcombing method, for time and simplicity reason. For the most part they are locking up great. However, about a couple days ago, I reviewed my dreads and found there were a about 10-15 (out of 120) dreads which contained little sections of straight hair that were not dreading. I asked my friend, who has dreads, what I should do about them and he said I should try interlocking just the sections that are not dreading. Seems like a fair idea. Your thoughts?
Secondly, has anyone found a better way to dread the roots than just rubbing them in a circular motion? I ask this because my friend advised to interlock the root and the, still lose, tips to keep them tight so I don't have to were rubber-bands. If I interlock the roots can I go back to circular rubbing to develop the roots later?
