id have to see what ya mean pics help alot but i think its just how your hair sections itself into curly spirals before they dread..thats fine and will cause some sexy wavy dreadies..
That is exactly it. before starting the locking process my hair would wave up in these huge chunky 'S' shaped waves. was beautiful if I do say so myself (and I just did. LOL) and is making for some really interesting 'locks.

Introduce Yourself

been reading here and other places SE posts for a few months but didn't join til just now. went the neglect route about 3 or 4 months ago. course I started with hair to my butt.... so it looks really interesting. smooth from scalp to about 3 inches. then it mats and the last few inches are barely twisted. (my hair twists before it locks- is that common?)I think sometime today I'll spritz my locks w/ saltwater as I've never done so and am dying to have the feeling of "doing something".Do Tams have to be made of wool? I was thinking of making one with some yarn I have here. None of which is wool. hmmm....I suppose sometime I'll have to take pics of my locks and post em up here. soon.

Children with Dreadlocks??

Dreads in the Family

So, my ds 12 asked today if he could have dreadlocks. I was soooo proud! But.... this is a prepubescent boy who fights taking showers and often lies about washing his hair. (he has major sensory issues) So I was thinking if he still wants to do dreadlocks in a few months I may let him. But he needs to be washing his hair.I was thinking that I might give him a spray bottle of baking soda and water to spritz into his hair until its wet and then have him rinse it out in the shower after 20 min. That sound reasonable?BTW- with what SE says about Cheyanne... I say let her go for the dreads.
