Dreadfully purple?

Help! Save My Dreads

Alright so ive had bleach blonde dreads for about 4 months and decided I wanted to go to a burgundy/brown color. got a box of dye and my dreads came out this dark, but very bright...purple. While Im not entirely opposed to this, I do need to dye it a nuetral color for my wedding in a month. Just wondering ehat the safest way to go say, medium brown without frying my hair would be?I dont think the dye damaged my hair too much, but its kinda hard to tell. Overall my dreads feel softer but more matted. I cant tell if they loosened up or if they are just suckin in surrounding hairs. Plus my hair is/was on the thinner side so having such dark hair makes my scalp show more than desired. With the wedding being in a month, i only have like 1 shot to get the right color. Any tips would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Mature dreads--What's your routine?

Dread Maintenance

Alright, so now that I've passed the crucial 1 year phase, I've been thinking more about how to keep these babies smellin and feelin their best. So...what's everybody's routine to keep their dreads nice and healthy?

I wash about every 3 days or so with dreadhead shampoo (I know, but I bought the damn thing when I started and STILL haven't run out.) that I've added some tea tree oil to. About once every month I"ll do a BS ACV wash and rinse to get them feelin extraaaa clean. >_< After I lightened my hair I noticed my dreads felt pretty damn dry so I rubbed some Vitamin E oil in them. (Don't know if that's good or bad, but it seemed to make them feel better and it's the only thing I could think of at the time. Eh, live and learn right? lol)

Anyone else?

I plan on having these babes a really long time so I'm interested to hear what everyone else does to keep their dreads healthy after years of dreading. Oh, I'm also interested to hear if anyone has any "Dude, don't do this, LOOK what happened" type stories.

Peace & Namaste :)

That's exactly what I did :) I think between 6 and 8 months I split 4 I think, giving me 4 more. Even though I loved the way they were all loopy and had character and such, they were just humungous and were making to much scalp show. Make sense?

Thanks for the compliments guys! :)

They are amazing! Did you split some of the bigger ones though? It looks like at 6months you had some bigger ones or did you just let the go? just wondering =)

Help! Save My Dreads

Sad :( Do you wear your hair up often? It could've been from being pulled back too tight. As far as the recovery goes, I have no idea. Sending good dread vibes your way :)
