My dreads were cut off and I want them back :(

Help! Save My Dreads

In an inebriated state on klonopin and booze I was convinced by someone that my dreads were breaking off and should be cut ( I was on a lo of drugs, I no longer do any due to this experience) anyhow, it was traumatizing and I still have them. I was 100% neglect before but now I have only a few inches of hair, I know I have to grow it to reattach them but I just wanted advice on how to do it? How much hair I need? I am trying to find videos and can't. I know I will be reattaching them. help help help. :'(

Deep Cleaning.

Introduce Yourself

Thanks so much guys! I looked it up some on the web and heard about the soaking method so I am getting a bucket tomorrow (The sink leaks when it is full, haha) I have had my dreads about 2 years so way overdue for a deep-cleaning, though I have been cleaning them regularly with good residue-free shampoos. I'd have not even thought to deep-clean if I hadn't torn apart that monster and discovered the funk. D:

Deep Cleaning.

Introduce Yourself

So, I separated a few monster dreads recently and the inside smelled kinda musky and gross and my friend told me I need to deep clean them. I never knew this was something I needed to do, I thought washing them every week or twice depending was sufficient. I would like to know exactly how to deep clean this. I am sure this is already on here somewhere and sorry for making a new post but when I searched "deep cleaning" I didn't find the recipe.

You nailed it soaring eagle. (For me) I have been vegan 8 years, maybe 9? and it is true you wouldn't have to hurt a sheep to get wool but sadly with mas production it's a disgusting process, the same with dairy.

Natural/neglect dreadlocks at 16 months

Dreading Methods

Hello, my dreads are 16 months today! <3 and they have been 100% neglect and I have used residue free soaps/ no wax etc etc. The underneath hair is still virtually undreaded. I am not overly concerned but was just wondering it pulling my mature dreads up while I sleep may be helpful in expediting the process?

How I wash my dreads.

Dread Maintenance

I switch it up depending on finances and mood I guess. Both are pretty legit ways to keep the dreads clean.

How I wash my dreads.

Dread Maintenance

If you don't feel like watching a video, it's pretty much Dr. Bronner's or Plantlife bar soap, baking soda if I am trying to be thrifty, ACV rinse occasionally, and an occasional spray of sea salt water. That's it. Oh, And I do enjoy a few drops of essential oils in a rinse from time to time, though lately I have been forced to be quite thrifty and just use bar soaps.
