So, SE has 22 year old neglect dreads. most folks here have dreads, and after i removed the wax from mine and started my washes, my hair locked faster and became less oily...YOU sir or maam have no dreads, all these people do...yea...im taking their word over yours, no one got defensive sir/maam. You did. If you dont want to listen to people with years upon years of experience of naturally washing their dreads, than thats on you, there's plenty of love on the site, but there's also a lot of ignorance and hardheadedness from some..

ahhhh those dreams are the worse!!! i had them too! i'd wake up and run to the mirror or run my hands trhough my hair to make sure theyre still there. i think every dread has that dream...as the Frank Cook quote in the front page of the site goes...i think its your body's way to show you that your dreads are growing inward, and affecting the way ur brain works! lol.

oh ok so i see you were pretty aggressive with it. Now, where did you get your neem seed oil? just wondering if its a store i might be able to go to here, or if i might have to look online.

lol sounds good, i didnt meant added to the alcohol itself, i meant as an additional separate treatment. So i just gotta get my hands on the neem seed oil in case it happens to me. if i were to add the neem oil to the bs wash how many drops should i do? my dreads are almost down to my shoulders.

So SE, do you have a specific mixture for the neem seed oil? for example, i use the bs, sea salt, jojoba oil, teatree, and jasmine rose for scent. So i would just add the neem seed to that, every 2 days? added to the alcohol treatment? and this wont dry up the scalp?

You shouldn't let your hair refrain you from having fun. You can definately swim, and they'll loosen up a little bit initially but they'll tighten back up later. The only piece of advice i'd give is after swimming in a pool i'd wash your hair asap, to get rid of all the chemicals like chlorine that can damage your hair. Its a little different in the ocean, in that case you just wanna rinse with water to get the salt off, and usually u can wait to actually wash it, but with swimming pools there's chemicals, so you wanna wash right away.

Stay away from twisting, and get away from the image of perfection, as americans we get too hung up on perfection. Dreads will be perfect when they feel the need to, they cant be forced to, believe me i found that out on my own, because i too used to twist once a month until i realized it was doing more harm than good. Stay away from twisting and just let them be, n if theres wax on them get it out! The fact that you used the term "put them in" implies that wax was used. If thats the case, its the worse thing for your dreads. Let them be free in the wind, swim in the ocean, do what you want. Just make sure you wash them regularly and embrace the mess, because it takes a little while for it to reach maturity. Good luck!!!! One.

I wonder if its because as you move in your sleep your hair actually scrapes against the little loops in the towel? Maybe it generates a little static electricity that almost works like a hair teaser? Or maybe i have no idea what the fuck im talking about!!!!!LOL
