Also, do you see how thin they are? Is that okay? I didnt want them that thin but my hair is just thinner on the bottom layers than up top. I dont want them to break off.
Yeah i know, the bands. I put them in thismorning cause i was having a moment. I took them out already.
i backcombed but my hair has always been dry and frizzy as it is and now its just worse
Okay so i just started out and i wanted to show you what they look like.. they're a real mess. Really dry, loose, and pretty much one big frizz ball. I want to know if this is normal?
I've read if you wash too soon then they will just fall out. And different size dreads will lock at different times and won't be on the same page at all. why is palm rolling pointless?
Oh, and i forgot to ask. Did it help anyone to do beads or keep bands in ( for locking or just for consistent width)? I have curly hair, so i figure it will be an easier locking process for me.
So, you guys have already helped me out so much. I've been looking at a lot of topics on everything. I'm dreading in 5 days. We are gonna go with the backcombing method, then palm-roll with dreadlockshampoo.com's gel. I know sectioning is important, i want to do 1x1. I've got the whole day off, just to give myself a lot of time. I also ordered the liquid shampoo from them and also a bar.
I got an extra thing of gel just in case because i read you should gel/roll twice a week in the beginning. I was going to skip a week and wash once the second week. And i'll probably invest in some baking soda for initial cleaning.
Any other suggestions you have for me just starting out? Thanks.
