very pissed, but its expected

General Talk

okay so i was at Driving School today, and as we were practicing our turns and stuff, a stupid guy from "Summer School" yelled "Hey look Bob Marley's driving" and of course I couldn't hear him because the engine, and the radio, but my sister told me after...but its expected for Summer School kids to act like idiots. But after, i felt better because this girl said she likes my dreads, and that she was growing one, which she showed me and it was beautiful!, so i felt better after that...despite the fact that a bunch of summer school kids make up their credits, then dont go home and they just watch us drive, and yell rude comments, because they know they cant drive yet...

Thank you :] and SE the roots are kind of thick, and where some are pulling away there is loose hair there, is that repairable?

retwisting probably has something to do with it. i know excessive twistingcan cause dreads to break off in extreme cases..maybe twisting as maintenance has caused her roots to weaken to the point of thinning so they appear to be pulling away from their original position; maybe twisting has made them so tight they look thin; or maybe twisting has caused breakage at the root to make them appear thin? it's hard to say without seeing what they look like, but tell her to stop doin maintenance and twistingand hopefully the roots will thicken up and get healthier and stronger. the best maintenance is no maintenance, and any thing other than that could have a bad outcome.

definitely check out the link in the above comment! Or go up to the top and click on dreading methods or dreaducation, SE covers all the methods for us :o)
I started mine with backcombing and went back through em after a week or 2 and redid some of the looser ones with TnR. there's really a lot of different ways to dread, but I personally think after you do whatever method you choose, the best maintenance method is to just go natural/neglect and let ur hair form itself and do what it wants

Dreading Methods

this has been on my mind for a while, so i'm just going to be straight forward with this, are there any other methods besides T&R or crochet (which i know is bad) and stuff because a lot of people on here say the T&R but is that the only way? are there any people on here that used something different??
