dreaducation, comprehensive guide to all things dready
Dreading Methods
Hello.. I'm just starting locks on long hair (4C, about 30cm). I've read like 8 sites on hox to start locks and I'm more confused. I've started using wax and double twist but after 3 days my hair looked so dirty so I washed it out, I didn't comb them. Yesterday I made flaxseed gel and added some drops of geranium essential oil in it. I washed my hair, undit the double twist and with combing just sectionned it neatly and aplied flaxseed gel to it and palmrolled it. So that they didnt unfold I then retwisted them together. I don't know if I'm being clear enough.
Here (a little island in the indian ocean - rodrigues) people more usually just let there hair dread by doing nothing. There exists no salon offering dreadlock cares (maybe thankfully) and I want my locks to turn out right without ruining myself. I do NOT want to spend a lot of money on my hair. I'm pretty sure I'm not starting my locks how it should.
Please advice me. I still have time to restart all over. What's the best option for me having long 4c hair?
