Fatter Dreads Than Original TnR Appeared... 12 Weeks

Help! Save My Dreads

Does it matter if some of the sections are rectangular as opposed to square?

Will they get much bigger than this? or will they start to relax and stop being so fluffy? My hair is naturally wavy/curly so when it's humid out or right after i take a shower my hair seems to look enormous

The first picture is of the sectioning on the nape of my neck, the second is most of the back of my head, and the third is a day or two after completing all the TnR sections

Help! Save My Dreads

This is what they looked like the first couple days (including after the first wash). Will they shrink back down to that size again?

Fatter Dreads Than Original TnR Appeared... 12 Weeks

Help! Save My Dreads

I started my dread journey using the TnR method about 12 weeks ago and overall i'm very happy with how theyre locking up. However, I'm concerned that the thickness of my baby dreads has essentially doubled from the sized they were when I originally did TnR. The first day I was very satisfied with the size and did expect them to get a little bit larger, but not this much. Will my dreads get skinnier as they tighten, or just continue to grow?

Here are some pictures of the original sectioning of my hair before TnR, some of my dreads the first couple of days, and a picture of them from a couple days ago

Palm Rolling?

Dread Maintenance

I've heard and read a lot of mixed reviews about palm rolling dreadlocks. Some say its great and helps with the formation of dreads, while some say it does nothing to help. Other even say that it can damage the dreads, but no one says why. Any opinions?

Hi!

Introduce Yourself

Hi! My dreads will be 6 weeks old on monday and were made with twist and rip. Unfortunately, I crochet-hooked a few to try and get them tighter, which worked but isnt great for dreads (I learned about the damaging effects after I'd already done it). I'm impatiently waiting to have beautiful, long, fully-mature dreadlocks! While I wait, I like to swing dance, longboard, quilt, and read
