Baking Soda Wash

hello ladies and gentlemen i have been washing my hair for two weeks now with just baking soda and have noticed a huge difference in not only texture but the genereal characteristics or moods of my hair. i have also completely stopped combing my hair since the complete failure of my locs due majorly to my love of semi pro football. i have come to notice that the hair has been more more more knotty. and complient towards the dreading process or so it seems. should i try to twist it or back comb it .its about three inches long and i have tried the twist and rip but for somereason it doesnt seem to be working properly. any hints or ideas i am not for the neglect way of dreading cause i want a kind of more uniform way and i know my friend se said its the most natural way and most healthyest way. i dont wanna be mainstream but want a more presentable head of dreads.
