Well, they have an 'appearance policy' which includes disciplinary steps up to termination that is legal. I had a huge ongoing issue with them over a rose tattoo that I got when I was 15, years before I started working there. We got a new HR Director who came up with this new policy. Adherence to their policies is a condition of employment. Legally. Trust me I checked. It wasn't worth giving up my career for, especially when I was so close to retirement. But anyway...I appreciate all the advice here, I'm just a bit overwhelmed! Having studied this a bit, I've discovered just what you advise...no residue shampoo and probably the twist and rip method, only because I'd like somewhat uniform dreads. Now I just need to get one of my friends to help me with the back!I can't wait to start, I'm pretty excited.
