What's a good time to go between washing your hair? It hasn't gotten oily, actually more dry than anything. Will it slow the process down by not washing like say 2 times a week?

So im only 4 days in. I've washed twice so far with bs. I know my hair usually gets super tangly if i shower and let my hair get wet but dont wash or condition it so im thinking maybe I should wet it even if im not washing it. Does this make sense?
