I had this problem about two weeks ago. It was itchy as hell too! I bought some of the tea tree oil type shampoo from dreadlockshampoo.com and now I dont have that problem anymore. It really is just an irritation from your dreadlocks pulling/you itching.

Just If you are curious.

I'll have to try that when I get some money but I use maylees garden soaps and they've worked well for itchones til recently.

Nope I don't do any. But I wanna know that acv bs rinse you told me about awhile ago cuz that helped when I did it the first time. Ive got maintenence once abut 2 years ago and I've had my locks for 5 years natural neglect method.

Had mine for 5 years almost and never had this issue. I get a itchy bump under my hair sometimes that I can never see so don't worry about, but lately I've gotten a fee behind my ears, my neck at rhe base of my scalp, and all other areas of my neck. Theyre itchy so I didn't think they were pimples cuz pimples don't usually itch lol. But they're annoying and I'm wondering if I have bugs living in there or something crazy.

soaring eagle this one's for you - hair soak rinse

Introduce Yourself

Hey I've talked to you a few times but each time got a different answer as to the exact portions of each ingredient I need to make a baking soda acv rinse. I followed the one recipe and it left my hair grayish tint that eventually faded. Anyways, what is the exact mixture of baking soda and acv mix to soak my dreads in to get the moldy smell out? And the smell isn't the here when my hairs dry but ad soon as I wash it, then it dries completely, it has a wet smell to it.Reason I ask for soaring eagles advice is cuz he's had the natural neglect method for more than a few decades so he knows what's up. Any other tips are appreciated obviously.

super clean dreads (safe for baby locks too)

Dread Maintenance

It won't let me comment back to you on the thread you left me a response at, so hopefully you're not confused as to what I'm referring to. But I'm the one who told you I did the BS soak and it left grey tint all over and white specks and a filmy feeling on the body of the dreads

Hey it won't let me log in to the new site and I'm not sure if you got my response comment cuz it's not showing up, but I'm confused why you're saying to use 1/2 cup BS with 5 water, when the instructions above say use 1 1/2 CIO BS and and gallon of water? I'm commenting on the thread where you posted the instructions... There's still a grey tint and white specks in my hair so should I rinse it with water before doing another soak ?

Dread Maintenance

Ok so I used this soak earlier for the first time, though I've been meaning to do it for awhile and haven't had the time. I look up to you SOARING eagle for all your advice and the beauty and strength in your locks- so I knew your instructions for this soak would work wonders. Soaked for 25 minutes then rinsed it for 15 minutes til I thought the water was running clear. When I was drying my body I glanced at my hair an noticed every frizz and stray wisp of hair has white on the ends, so now my entire head has white on the body of the dreads. It doesn't look like the build up I used to have; it looks like leftover baking soda almost. It left my hair feeling very soda-y, almost like a thin layer of slickness, hard to explain. Not neccesarily clean feeling BUT I can feel the cleanliness in my roots and my locks don't smell! Omg the musty wet smell is gone from the thick body of my dreads! Yay! So I know know know it worked for what it was supposed to do BUT I did something wrong and need you to help me figure out what exactly I didn't do. Did I not rinse well enough? The top of my head almost looks grey and my hairs dark brown so it seems like there's baking soda left over on my locks, but I swear I rinsed it long enough. I took a picture to show u but don't know where I can post it. Comment me back so I know if I need to re rinse or something else. My dreads feel great clean and smell wise but there's a layer of something on them still that was never ever there before and its making it look like there's white specks all over but its not build up
