I think your friends information is misleading hun. Just keep em clean and seperated and you should have no trouble at all. My friend Drew is coming up on 17 years of thin hair and what started as thin dreads. Over the years many have congoed and thickened up.

Every three days is not too exessive, in my opinion. I am only 3 or so months in and I have been washing every 2 or 3 days. Right at the 2 month mark my hair/scalp started undergoing some massive changes. Are you twisting or palm-rolling, or doing any kind of maintenence? (if you are....STOP) I wound up with small oily bumps like that, before I stopped twisting and started washing with BS/ACV treatment. Are you sure your ratios of BS and H20 are correct? I wish I had more answers for you..... Don't give up on your dreadies yet!!!! I am sure there is someone far more expirienced than me that can and will help you solve this tiny problem!

Hey all at about 3.5 to 3.75 months in to my journey and I find myself obessing over dreads...they seem to consume me, every second of free time i have, I find myself looking at photos and timelines. I scour the forums on his site for any sliver of information that I may have overlooked. I love my baby locs and I love having the ability to link up with other fellow dreadheads.
It's so nice to be able to get the encouragement I need on days when I am unsure. It's even more wonderful to have someone else think my "mess" or "nest"Is beautiful. Thank you fellow loopy heads!
I was wondering if any of you find yourself lost in daydreams and websites, photos, and forums about dreads like I do.
I heard you can use dawn in a pinch...but I am no expert.... Hope everything works out for you friend.
