Water Fasting? Has anyone tried this?

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

Woow, that is awesome. You made it as a part of your lifestyle! Cheers for you Ms. Sussi :D and I will check out the video today. Thank you so much for your advice.

I think three days on water should be fine. I fast two days every week and on those days I only drink water. Sundays and Wednesdays I don't eat anything and my body always feels very calm even if I'm hungry for the first hours. I fast because I believe that it's healthy. There's a BBC documentary called Eat, Fast andLive Longer, watch it here: http://www.documentarytube.com/eat-fast-and-live-longer-bbc-horizon... if you are interested in fasting.

Sleep fast ? :O That sounds interesting. can you please tell me more about it? And LOL, yes I woulddefinitely do water fast during the last 3 days of holy week :) Thank you so much for your thoughts.

i personally do a sleep fast on occasion because i have noticed the large amount of clarity and lucid dreaming with ease afterward....if you are talking about nothing BUT water and then i would say go for it. fasting can be a very great experience. i have been thinking about doing a juice fast personally. when i first read it i read it as you would be fasting from water and i was gonna tell you that was a bad idea. but i just woke up not too long ago lol.

Water Fasting? Has anyone tried this?

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

I have already tried a whole day of water and it turned out fine. That's why I'm considering around 3 days of water fast (if I can) x) And I am perfectly fine. I've just been wanting to do water fast for religious purpose since I was around 8. My dad used to do it for a whole day, and while my mom just for about 12-16 hours per day for the holy week.Thank you so much for your opinion, I will research more about water fasting as much as I could before I will start. Thank you so much again! :D

Yes and no. Water quality makes a big difference. Water alone can make you sick or make you well, I think the mineral content has a lot to do with it, plus your current state of health or disease, daily stress or lack of it, etc. If you've never fasted on water alone, I would try 12 or 24 hours first, then longer another time after you know what to expect. I'm sure other members will chime in with a wide range of opinions and experiences...

Water Fasting? Has anyone tried this?

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

Hello good fellas :D I was just wondering if any of you have tried water fasting. If you have did, can you tell me more about it? And for how long did you do it?

Cause as you see, it's nearly holy week and I wanted to fast for 3 days for spiritual and physical cleansing and to pray for my sins cause, I have been eating meat (I am apescetarianbut I have been tempted to eat meat again for the past few months).

Any comments about this would really be helpful for me. Thank you in advance and much love :D

The neutrogena stuff works really well. BS won't rinse out well if you have hard water. I know from experience :)

The neutrogena anti-residue stuff is only like $5 and considering you only should use it a couple times a year, it is super cheap. I used it once and my boyfriend has used it once and it still is pretty much completely full. I'm sure when my locks are long I'll need to use more, but still, this stuff is going to last me years .

Fast Progression (Is it good or bad?)

General Questions

Yes, I do feel that way. My dreads become heavy during I wash it, but the rest of the day - I don't feel theheaviness.

Mons said:

I would think, since dreaded hair holds water, they'd feel heavy when wet. Mine always feel heavy when I'm washing and for a while after, because they're wet, water is heavy.

Fast Progression (Is it good or bad?)

General Questions

That might be maybe the reason why I feel that my head is heavy when washing. I have always thought that it's just because of the water. I might try and cleanse my dreads soon, and about the Neutrogena - I think it might be hard to find that here :\

the Barrellady said:

The speed of dreading is different from one person to the next. Curly hair usually dreads way faster. Hair textures, water, washing frequency, movement of hair also play a part. You hair is having its crazy journey and there is nothing to worry about, just enjoy the ride.

If you use Dr. Bronners & have hard water, it does not rinse out properly and leaves a residue which builds up in time. Not all shampoos & soaps work well with hard water. If you think this might be your problem, use a anti residue soap like Neutrogena to get the build up out. This stuff is strong and should only be used 2-3 times a year if needed. Always rinse really really well after washing, finish off with a cold head rinse :) Peace

Fast Progression (Is it good or bad?)

General Questions

I agree D: I separate almost 5 times a week because my hair is really going wild and congos are forming too. but over all I'm happy of what is happening :)

that's really scary if I have buildup, but you might be right because when I was in overseas the water there was hard water. I might try to do cleansing on my 3rd month mark.
