Welcome. Palm rolling will not help form locks, though. Unless you do it A LOT. Then it will create lasting knots, but it will destroy your locks. If you do it for a while, it can make the damageirreversible.
Here's what only 2 weeks of palm rolling will do to you locks down the line: http://www.dreadlockssite.com/video/why-not-to-palm-roll

Welcome! Your locks are looking great so far I would take it easy on the palm rolling, though, its not good for your scalp. Good luck!
Welcome. I guess I don't have to go into what everyone else said. Wax and tools are the #1 and 2 things that cause people to cut their locks off. Wax causes mold and completely prevents locks from maturing. Because it is a hydrocarbon, it will NEVER wash out in normal soap and water. You need a detergent to get it out. And even then, washing it once with a detergent isn't enough. For 1 session with wax, it can take about a month of washing 2-3 times a week to get it out.
Tools force locks to over tighten. But by doing so, they rip your hairs to shreds and make your locks extremely weak. And because of the ripped hairs, you locks end up frizzier than they were before. It then seems like you need to crochet again to clean up the damaged caused by crocheting. It can take upwards of 6 months to recover from each time you crochet.
Practically everything from DreadheadHQ and Knotty Boy is a lie and only serves their purpose of making money. They promote selling products that ruin locks. Then, to make more money, they sell products to "fix" the damage they caused in the first place. It's a vicious cycle. And they make it just about impossible to complain and get your money back (Even if the products are unopened).
Unfortunately any amount of wax is bad. It causes rot in the dread by helping to lock water into it, in turn helping bacteria take hold and eat away at your hair. You should begin to take the steps to completely remove the wax. Hair dreads all on its own. It does not need products of any kind. If you go to the beach, just rinse thesaltywater out when your done. It is that simple.
I really recommend you buy the wax-b-gone or use the dish detergent. As I said either will work, but the detergent will take more washes to completely remove the wax.
Would you mind telling me what exactly you use in your products and what the products are?
welcome but you are completely ruining your dreads! wax will make them rot all the tools do is do extreme damage lock peppa does nothing u got to do wax removal and throwe the tools away
get the wax b gone get the waxsx out righyt away its a scam it ruins dreadsand prevents dreading (just glues haitr]=r together to resemble dreads)
why do u have to use all these tools all the palm rolling root rubbing etc whnen ppl who use no wax do nothing at all?
its a scam
it msakes it harder to dread so they can sell u more tools mopre crap u dont need
crochet is even worse then wax
these are my dreads never been waxed (thank god) palm rolled backcombedf crochetted
i went camping for 2 weeks and it dreasded
all that crap yoir doing is making it harder to dread and ruining them they need to be left alone with no gunk in them!
remember they say only use non residue soap
wax is water proof residue that will survive 10 years of washing!
how is residue both good and bad?
itwill make them rot
its the number 1 cause of dreads being cut
Welcome and Happy Dreading.
Welcome to the community. Sorry to be the one to inform you, but the product you use are a scam. The wax is one of the worst things you can do to dreads, and the tools that you have been using ARE the worst. I can see already that your dreads are damaged.
This is what you need to do. Throw away those tools and let your dreads recover. Firstly though, you need to get the wax out of your hair. It can cause rot in the dreads. To do this, buy wax-b-gone or use dish detergent and hot water. The wax-b-gone will get it out much faster, but will still require a number of treatments.
You are not the first to be scammed by those companies and you wont be the last. But, follow the advise you find on this site, give your dreads some time to recover, and you should have a healthier set of dreads than you do now.
