Welcome. Eagle's right. Locticians are notorious for destroying locks. It's not always there fault. Beauty schools don't teach how to grow lock, let alone healthy ones. Most techniques they use are from what they pick up from youtube or other people. And there is more bad info out there than good.

As for the stuff in your hair, it won't help lock. Honey is food, not a gel. It won't do anything but promote insects to be attracted to your head. Lemon and lime juice is citric acid. It's not a strong acid on the pH scale, but it's more than strong enough to seep into your hair shaft and break your hair down from the inside out. This will make your hair more brittle and dry. Your texture hair doesn't need any more drying. In fact it needs more conditioning than caucasian hair.

Welcome Kaytea. Lots of kinks & curls in those dreads, they look wonderful. No need to re-twist anything, just let 'em be, re-twisting may do damage and you never want to re-tighten. Peace.
