First of all I'm not wrong, I'm right about what I said and you can go to any salon, the Internet, or just ask someone with interlocked dreads and they'll tell you the same thing. What you're calling baldness (scalp showing) is not baldness at all it's simply the scalp showing where the hair was parted. You would get this in any hairstyle that is parted.Further it's plain to see in many of the pictures the hair is not at all pulled to tight. It's firmly done but not to tight in any way. How do I know this? Because unlike you I'm black and know about black hair care first hand. You on the other hand are making blanket statements on something you really have no idea about. It's perfectly fine to say its your opinion but you insist on calling it fact and that's not right.Interlocking has been around for thousands of years and yes there are tribes in Africa that do them as well as those that do other types of dreads. This very thing is what won the Sisterlocks v Nappylocs case. Sisterlocs wanted to have proprietary rights to the style and of course since its been done for years they could not.You don't know how interlocked dreads are made properly and for some reason won't learn so that you can give educated, honest and factual information. That I feel is a disservice to not only you but those who seek your site out for factual information. For me it calls everything you say into question as you come off as a man who can not give a true report of anything without letting his personal bias get in the way. When I made my comments I gave a fair and factual account of the method. I also was more then willing to and did state that yes you can have breakage or even go bald from it but that's no more so then other methods or hairstyles. You on the other hand are unwilling to do that and that's not right. If you disagree with something said on this site or the way you believe dreads should be made you're attacked or spoken very rudely to and there's no cause for that. I can accept your opinion about interlocking but it's just that your opinion and what you feel, not a fact. I on the other hand am stating a fact and there is evidence from east to west, on the Internet, and even walking down your local street (depending on where you live) to back that up!I agree with you that interlocking can cause hairloss, but so can freeform, palm rolled, and many others. It's not the method that is the problem but the individual person on which it is done or who does it themselves. Not every person is suited to or can have interlocked dreads but that doesn't mean they won't try and the results can be bad just as if someone puts them in wrong. There is an exact method to each form of interlocking and to say there isn't makes you sound ignorant and arrogant and I don't believe you are. But you are letting a personal bias keep you from sound reason. You know how I feel about freeform dreads as I stated it in my original post but that's my opinion and not a fact. However I know many people who believe them to be dirty, stinky, nasty, a den for bugs, etc and they say this as though its fact just as you do about interlocked dreads but we all know that isn't true.People get interlocked dreads for many reasons I know for many in my home state it's for their career. You can not work for the Gov with anything other then perfectly manicured locs! I don't think this is fair but I don't make the rules I just play by them. It's all about look in certain circles and if you want to be in the top on or around the Hill you have to have clean professional look and freeform dreads do qualify for that but in most places neither does an Afro. I've been doing natural black haircare for a long time and I know what I'm talking about not just from what others have experienced but from my own personal hair care journey.I don't think you or anyone else is a bad person just unknowledgeable about the method.-Sam

Hey sam, let me ask you this. How were dreads formed thousands and thousands of years ago before any comb was even invented and neither were any types of hooks to interlock?

sam..ask salons? are u serous? salons are the ones profiting from causing you to go bald ask a salon is the dumn]=best idea i e er heard

do u ask a heroin dealer if heroins safe and non adictive?

ofcourse not they want to sell u something thats likely to kill you

salons are selling you lies selling harmful methods and if u ask a salon if its harmful they sany no

kook at crochet on youtube a guy name skillteachers responsible for the crochet epidemidc

in 1 vid he pulls his wifes dread right off ..actualy pulls is too strong a term he lifts it it breaks in 1.2

whats he say? it broke cause it wasnt crochetted enough!1 the fact is it broke cause it was crochetted to death but he is selling a lie and claimes that crochet makes it stronger

if your going to ask a salon then sorry thats a loron move what motivatuions there to tell the truth?

and root flipping has not been done thousands of years people were smarted then that then..they left theur dreads alone

the 1st time i ever heard of interlocking was only 10 years ago

and at that time everyones reaction was "wth why would anyone do that"

it makes no sense and u will go bald if u keep it up your being ripped off lied to and your paying to go bald..how smarts that

Amanda the so called proof you have given is how they are supposed to be not any type of baldness. Now you can refuse to believe that if you'd like and refuse to believe the people who have them done and know their hair is not going bald but that is your choice; however that doesn't make it fact. I don't need to put up pictures as you've done that for me. There's plenty of lovely photos online and salons where the proof is and obviously you know how to find them. Now as far as having African American hair texture sorry but your wrong there as well. Whenever we part our hair into small braids, extensions, cornrows, etc the scalp shows. That is how we want it to look and how it is supposed to. However you don't have this texture hair and thus don't know what it can or can't do. So to make any assumptions that you would know best is woefully inaccurate. You also don't specialize in interlocks of any kind so to argue something so rudely when you don't know that much about it is ignorant and arrogant. I have no problem with you voicing your opinion whatever that may be but to state that its fact and to say that a specialist in the method doesn't know what he/she is doing is absurd. As for people working with freeform dreads sure they can get a job I didn't say they couldn't what I said was working for the Government that is something quite different especially the higher up the chain you go. Now you could try and sue for discrimination I wish you luck cause chances are very high you won't win. The companies know very well how to fire and not hire people, and they don't have to say anything about your hair to do so. You'll get the message loud and clear! I don't think it's fair but they have an opinion same as you about what's right and what's wrong, not fact but opinion.I don't know why you're so angry about this cause I'm not mad or upset; just want to help you see there's no more wrong with this style then any other. Why not just say you believe the only way is your way as that's what you believe? There's nothing wrong with that its just your opinion, not fact. Like saying vanilla ice cream is better then chocolate not a fact just an opinion. Both can be harmful if you eat to much but when eaten in moderation (the right way) they're just fine. So you can try or believe that they're dangerous or wrong but that doesn't make it true. Your own pictures prove you wrong, it may not be the look the way you want but it's how that person wanted their hair and what it's supposed to look like. Sorry you're mad but that's the plain truth and to say otherwise would be lying at worst, misinformation at best.Look at it another way I believe relaxers ruin your hair but that is my opinion not fact. Thousands get them every day with no problems so that claim doesn't work. Now what I can say is that if you put a relaxer in while pregnant it's harmful to the baby as that is a scientifically proven fact which is why there are warnings on the box. Do you see the difference? I hope so as its pretty plain to, but I suppose you'd have to make the choice to see that so it's up to you.-Sam

i think its just bad luck they run into a loctician who shames them into an appointment 'oh my your dreads need help hees my card we can fix that mess" u could be standing there with 20 ppl around u saying wow yoir dreads are awaesome the loctician comes up destroys your self convfidence ofcourse u have tio have somewhat low self esteem to let that 1 negative voice drown out the 20 compliments

from there it becomes a slipert]y slope i remember a gu=irl (not interlocking related ill explain the point in a min) who was anorexic..65 pounds near death covered in bruises (her bones bruised jher) a skeleton her heart stopped once they forced her on a feeding tube wich she yanked out nearly bleeding to death..scariest thing id everseen i met her at 115 pounds but still sickly skinny few months later she was back to 80

anyway there was a site umm xangla or i forget with hundreds of way far gone anorexics the closer to death you were the more compliments and admiation u got ..at 70 pounds youd get 'keep going girl your my thinspiration i cant wait to get like you'

ok the point relatingto interlocking once you start to go bald and have all that scalp showing and a 3/4 inch dread hanging from a 1 milimeter root all the other interlockers salons youtubers admire how "neat and tidy' they are like gueeny saying those horibly deforemed dreads look strong and healthy ..to her its possible they dio look good only because thats how shes conditioned

1st shamed into thinku[ing loose hair means unkempt then admired for the lack of hair..so they want to take it further crank them down tighter

1 salon on facebook posted an elderly woman she was 78-80 id guess

there were 6 or 8 lil tiny twu[iglike dreads sticking out with nearly 2 inches of bald scalp between

i commented hopw bad o[it looked and how it was way too tight the loctician replied "the whole time i was working on her she complained that i wasnt doing it tight enough cause her last loctician made it hurt more"

once conditiined to think they should look thast way they actively seek out locticians to make them balder (balder as in wider gaps not realizung the end result is widespread permanent baldness)

they are not supi]=osed to be bald thats the point that is balding it does get worse it is proof cant you see that?

if the average distance between 2 hairs on the scalp is 0.3 milimeters and the interlocking causes a space of 1/2 an inch ..whered the other thousand hairs go?

how its suposed to be is how it is when..left akone!

hairs suposed to cover scaslp

sunshine causes skin cancer

hair protecxts the scalp from harmful sun rays

if your not suposed to have hair on your head it wouldnt be there

geez

anyonr got as brick wall to argue with?
