Dry and brittle dreads :(

Hello friends! Okay, I started my dreads just under a 1.5 years ago. Everything has been great and I am loving all the wacky transitions my hair has gone through. And best of all, I love my dreads!! However, I have recently been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. Because of my medicine, my hair has become thin, lifeless, and very dry/brittle. It worries me a little but the intensity of my meeds will soon go away but until then, I am looking for some natural remedies to give my dreads some conditioning without hurting them? Any oils, soaks, anything. Thanks!
