do you have smelly stinky dreads? mold or mildew or the dreaded dread rot?
dread rot or mold and mildew growing in dreads causing them to stink especially when damp can be caused by many factors like:
- wax use- wax is the number 1 cause of dread rot it causes the perfect environment for mold to grow in trapping water and dirt in the core of the dread
- improper shampoo- shampoos with residues can cause a swampy condition much like wax can
- improper drying- dreads dry slowly, tying them up putting on a hat or going to bed with damp dreads can easily cause mold
