Does wearing a bandanna affect the growth of natural dreads?

Well for work I have to wear something to hide the, the very messy mess hair I have. So I chose a bandanna but it kind of rests on the bottom layer of my hair and the sides, and wonder if it will slow down or prevent the hair from doing it's locking thing?

probably only minimaly depends i guess on how you put it on wether it disturbes the hair alot ofcoudrse leave it loose as much as u can

It shouldn't, just don't wear it too tight, do it as loose as possible, and make sure the time you're not in work, you have your hair nice and free it might delay the progress a little bit, but it shouldn't make a noticeable difference, really.
