Don't worry, my grandma says the same stuff about my dreads, and I'm almost 6 weeks in. She says there aren't any on the back, and it just looks like I quit brushing my hair (well, duh), and they're not going to get tighter, and they're just nasty, and 'please just brush it'. But I just tell her I like it this way, and she seems to be finally understanding that I'm not going to brush them out.
