i would guess dawn dish soap or a clarifying shampoo would work well

i would only use dreadheadhq if you were hoping to be in a head and shoulders comercial and u need the "before" dandruf cause it is a good way to give yourself dandruff even if u never had any b4

I feel ya all too well...iv always been hesistant of hair salons....iv been to several and just like you said it seems they always pull my hair uber tight and leave me setting under a hair dryer forever....the best and only person i would trust to go to again in a salon setting is a loctician (certified and licensed) i of course sat under a dryer with her and my locs were tight but they also felt extremely hyrdated and she gave me lots of tips on what to use and what to stay away from. A lot of people just do their own locs though and iv been trying to learn to do my own as well.

u shouldnt tighten the roots at all so just stop going to salons let the roots take care of themselves its not that hard to do nothing but seperate them
