Isn't a dorm sort of a whole building accomodated by the school for students to live in? mine is rented out privatly by the ones who own the house, so i don't think its the same thing. Vinny said:

oh I see. Yeah if your renting out a room in a private home then its not called a dorm, my bad. I don't believe there is a specific English word for that living situation though, at least not a commonly used word. Adrian M Jrstad said:

As per the word, we call it PG, an abbreviated term for Paying Guest. Welcome!!
