I'm new.... But isn't that waaaay too much baking soda? I thought you're only supposed to use like 1/8cup - 1/4cup??? I could be completely off.... Just on day 8 here...

MegN, When you don't use enough baking soda, you only begin to exfoliate your skin. What tends to happen is that dead skin gets pulled away, but not completely washed off.

1/2 cup BS to 5 cups water is around the best ratio to completely clean your scalp and hair. Some people need more. Some need a little less. But too much less won't do the job

I did something that got rid of the problem. First off, i did a extra strong BS Wash. I used boiled water and mixed while still hot. Left it in 15 minutes. Rinsed them good then dipped my dreads in a bowl of boiling water.the water turned cloudy again. Squeezed them out good and repeated a few times. Then a good long cold rinse. Finally acv , rinse and rosemary teatree rinse. And voila! Greyish Dreads are now clean! Well it worked for me.
