Temporary 'dreads'

I love the look of dreads, but dont feel i could commit to them i get bored too easily...same reason i wont get a tattoo lol.

What can i do to keep something for say a week for like costuming purposes that will come out easily/fairly easily without a ton of damage to my hair?

like i said, i do love the look, but i dont want something permanent. i get bored far too easily with hairstyles/colors/clothing for myself

and besides, ive gone months without brushing/combing my hair and got nothing :p
