I justread another discussion and there was a line that said something about sweat being another form of salt water...After I thought about it... I decided that made sense but does sweat really have the same benefits as swimming in the ocean?

We sweat for 2 major reasons 1 to regulate body temperature 2 to get rid of toxins. So even though sweat does contain salt...it contains yucky stuff (toxins) that causes it to smell. Sweat won't hurt dreads.

Well I think it seems to help too because I work in a print shop and I sweat so much you'd think I was doing construction in the hit sun.....And I'm only three weeks in and my dreads are getting pretty tight....

I know that I went to a concert awhile back and being up front and dancing I sweat a LOT and my hair seemed much knottier the next day, I dunno if it was just the freedom and dancing and swinging them around but I'm sure the sweat contributed
