Hey y'all! I started my journey 2.5 months ago and am really struggling with flaky scalp. I've struggled with it my whole life, as have a few others in my family. What can I do to get rid of them and also keep them from getting stuck in my locks? Not a huge fan of baking soda as it can be damaging to hair. Are there any other ways to get rid if the flakes and prevent them?

I never use hot water. Always take warm or cool showers. I further investigated it and I found out it was Pityriasis. Similar to Psoriasis. Found an oil blend to help. Will coconut oil be alright to use on my scalp? I wasn't sure since it deep conditions hair.
