Wet and Salty dreads??

Hi guys,

I've just had some lovely dreadlocks put in my hair 2 days ago (back combing method) as I am off travelling in a month, so it seemed a good time to have them. Although after a bit more research, I'm a little worried about how easy it will be to properly maintain them.

I'm going to be based on an island off Kenya, so very humid (average 75%), i think its unlikely we will have access to fresh water for hair washing and I am likely to be in the sea quite often assnorkelingis part of my job description.

Has anyone had any experience with humid weather and drying dreads? (+ i won't have a hairdryer...) And how might sea water affect them if I can't wash them out very often?

Thanks a lot guys!
