I'm in the same situation... I have thick straight hair and I did twist n rip with no wax. They have unravel abit after a shower. for maintenance i do not do anything to them. no twisting or rubbing i leave them alone. I wake up and start my day and wear my whool beanie. any help ?

Everyone says that if you leave your hair alone it will dread....
Ive had my dreads around 2 and half years, and I have a good bit of loose hair, that won't dread yet. Like taye said, hair usually dreads at a certain length. Even as your growing dreads you loose hair that becomes part of your dreads and new hairs start to grow. Like if worse came to worse you could back comb it or T n R it, but i think it will work itself out.
