s fine as long as ypu dont do 2 things
make them excessivly tight
leave them in for excesively long periods
if your doing it for a few days yoir ok
but definately shouldnt do it then leave em in for months

What Eagle said. Pulling too tightly on your hair will cause traction alopecia. This is a condition that is caused by too much torque on your roots. It leads directly to baldness if it's not stopped.
And leaving them in too long will cause them to congo together faster. When you take them out, you will have some major separating to do, but I think lightly cornrowed locks look awesome

well leaving them in too long also contributes to traction alopecia to cornroes gotta be somewhst tight to stay in place so your putting tension on the roots in unatural directions
a few days wont really harm anything but the continued tension foer months will
ofcourse being excessivly tight for days is bad for months is way worse
