i wanted to share my dread journey in a few pictures :)

i dreaded them myself, i used a back combing method and crochet hook to bring in the puffiness, it took me about a week to dread all my hair. My hair was really long prior to dreading.. I do not maintenance my dreadlocks with a crochet hook, they have been doing their own natural thing since the initial dreading process. i make sure they stay separated and work on my roots every other week or so. i wash with handmade soaps and dr bronners 1-2x a week. i like to crochet headbands and make beads for them. :)

when i say i work on my roots , i mean that i roll the roots and make sure all dreads are separted at roots since its so messy there. You are saying do not work on roots at alll? i dont think my dreads are getting thinner at the roots, rather i think, they are getting thicker in the middle ?

Don't roll the roots. Separating is fine, but other than that, leave the roots alone. Your dreads look nice :)

They look great. When I started I had a short Mohawk... I love how long yours are. Hope to get there too!
