hi i really need help with this.. im latino & my hair is about 4-5 inches long..

i really want dreads & i found someone who could do it for me, i asked for the methods she uses & she told me "to start them i use two strand twist or gel twist..."

im confused about it, cause i dont want any wax or chemicals on my hair..

should i get them done by her?

im in high school, im bout to start outdoor activities, should i be concerned about that?

Dreadlocks do not have to "done". They will form on their own if you stop brushing and just wash is the right kind of soap.

But some people like to use a starter method, I started a few of mine with starter methods. But one thing that should be avoided at all costs is wax or other gels. The only gel that will be ok is the one from dreadlockshampoo.com. That one is designed to degrade itself after a day or 2 and will wash out with no scrubbing in any shower
