So my dread turned 3 months old a couple of days ago and are growing strong, I do have a group of 3-4 dreads that have formed together at the root, it is on the side of my head that I sleep, it does not look bad and I am contemplating letting them join together like they want... But I am concerned that in the long run it will have a super funky look to them, of any body can let me know if a big Congo does look neat in the long run give me your input... Since I have found this site I stopped palmrolling and went all natural with baking soda wash once a week and they have just matured amazingly, much love to this site and everyone who puts out the great dready advice.. I separate mine but I guess it's really personal preference. They look great though!

i let mine congo at will for 4 years now buttttt ui dont lety any get too thick
i have 6 combined into 1 in many places but none over an inch thick
3 mionths is way too early to let em go wild
they will double uin thickness anyway
4 thick dreads congoed will be massive cause pain a ndf be very hard o care for
wait till they are more mature toi congo
unles u dont care if they congo into just a few dreads

The base is maybe3/4 an inch, but it is getting real solid.. Would I stillbe able to twist and riP to separate them? Or will that cause more damage than good.. Thanks for all your help SE... rip

i'm consciously letting a few of mine congo when i feel like they should be friends, but i'm staying on top of them to make sure they're not eating too many babies. mine are 5 months so they're still not mature. as long as you keep checking on them it should be fine =) personally i like how dreads look with varied sizes
