beginning my journey

brand new to the site, hoping to learn a bunch about this journey i am about to embark on.

been surfing the web about everything dreads (since ive never met anyone with them) and i noticed that they are all different, which is beautiful.

I have one dread already..i started it almost two months ago, just by back combing and kind of fiddling with it since.. keeping it from sucking in the rest of my hair. I do want to go ahead and do the full head... now, i've noticed a lot of times you can see a lot of scalp in between the dreads... and I was wondering if this is because of sectioning? I do not want to see all of that on my head, i want it to be covered.

I believe the best method to do this would be to just stop brushing and let it go. But i believe my employer may frown upon me not brushing my hair[as i keep my one dread pulled back with my other hair now]. So whatever I do has to be done over a weekend or something. I'm a-o.k. with back combing all of my hair. and my boss is okay with the poofy hair that will result.

just wondering the best way to section, or not to section to be sure I dont have a lot of visible scalp on my head?

after the back combing, I am all about letting them do their own thing. I dont intend on using wax or anything.

also while i'm here...should I or shouldn't I wash them while they are in the process of locking and even afterwards?... right now, my straight hair needs a wash every day to every other day due to greasiness.. and i believe clean hair dreads better than dirty...

your boss probly will be ok with going natural but if u want to make em over a weekend id use twisrt n rip not backcomb

id go natural up to 2 weeks and let the haur section itself use the natural dsecyioning

the bald head looks from strict sectioning if new but when it persists thats from twisting interlocking crocheting anything that makes roots oo tioght and it can result in permenant baklding

typicaly this is the salon definition of neat and tidy even though its extremely unheakthy
